Host.sk has been great so far but there are a couple of problems. For one there are just too many users on the system and porn/warez sites provide an endless onslaught to the server. But the central dilemma is the lack of a “real” php environment. As previously noted, host.sk employs safe mode scripting.
By recommendation on the Nucleus Forums I applied for an account on f2o.org. I was pleased to see that my application was accepted. The f2o admin explained the services they provide a little further in this post on the official forum. It’s a good thing that they screen every application and are not afraid to turn people down for whatever reason they see fit. Accepting more applications than you can handle is just bad for everyone. And unlike host.sk they also have cgi support. It might not matter but it is good to have around as a scripting backup when you for some reason can’t use php.

So the new home for his site will probably be battleangel.f2o.org. Also check out this test of the new gallery script that I finally got up and running (it refused to work on host.sk because of php being in safe mode).
