I had some correspondence with DVDSoon that might interest the general public.
> Q1: About: http://www.dvdsoon.com/showtitledetails.xml?uid=37442
> Apparently there are some discs that freeze at chapter 12. Source:
> Bandai is offering new discs, but only in Canada/US (I’m in Sweden). So, I
> wouldn’t really want a faulty disc. Has Bandai retracted the damaged discs
> yet? When will you have them in stock and will they be 100% free of damage?
A1: We have not received Escaflowne yet. We are now aware of this trouble, thank to you. But Pioneer provides us with good products. If they should know of this (and they sure do, according to your source), they wouldn’t send faulty DVDs to their distributors. However, at any time in your experience with us, with any title, if you encounter a product that has a defect, we will automatically exchange it for another copy, at our expenses.
> Q2: About: Back to the future BOX.
> The release date seem a bit off? Shouldn’t it be released in August or
> something?
A2: The date for Back to The Future is indeed December. We allow early orders because of the great demand for this title. There has been a wind of nostalgy coming from Back to the Future fans recently.

Stupid me. The BTTF Box is elusive alright. After looking through some of the webshops that list the box I have come to the following conclusion: R2=30th Sep 2002 - R4= 25th Aug 2002 - R1=17 Dec 2002.
It seems to be the same version even if there were some talk of a different R1 version. As for shipping and customs R2 is bullet proof as we all know, but the R2 version is expensive. R1 is certain to get caught in customs but DVDSoon slips through still for some reason. R4 is a risky deal. If the dealer only has a limited market share of the amount of R4 discs that reach Sweden, then maybe. Might be a good idea to buy from the NEXT cheapest R4 dealer or something
Ahhh, the logic of dvd imports …
