Fighting back

The magic red garbage can

I just wanted to make a note of this before I forget it. You never know, this might be a day to remember.

I was in contact with the Swedish National Post and Telecom Agency, Post- och Telestyrelsen, PTS, regarding one of my many issues with how ‘things’ are handled in this country. This time around it is Posten AB (The Swedish Postal Service) whom I would like to dedicate a swift kick to the groin area if possible. In judicial terms of course.
Reason: The unlawful competition situation that exists for private importers like myself. Every item that is billed for taxes xor customs is also billed for an additional fee of no less than 63 SEK. No matter what the value of the package is. On top of this every items/package needs to be collected from a clerk at the local postal office and this procedure is an additional 25 SEK.
A disc worth 100 SEK will end up with a price tag of no less than 213 SEK in the corrupt facist excuse for a system. Imagine if this would be common praxis in a book store for example - then you would pay 63 SEK extra just for bothering the clerk and 25 SEK for getting the book you just paid for. I could make up coaching paradigms all night long but I am sure you get the picture. You can’t charge someone a fee for the trouble of charging someone a fee. That is Swedish bureaucracy at a glance.

One of the investigators promised to look into the subject and call me back in a day. That is good news I suppose.

The people at the Swedish Consumer Agency were not as helpful however. The insisted that I’d call someone else through the entire conversation. It figures. They didn’t want to get involved with the paperwork and pointed me towards legal action. Ha, like this america where I can just sue someone for the fun of it …

Next up is the Swedish Competition Authority. And hopefully Plus will pick up the story eventually. I talked to them (Plus) over the phone about three months ago, but since they are still not back on air for the season it is hard to tell whether or not they are interested in doing a story about dvd imports. Because that is the core problem here. Dvd imports. Since the market for dvd discs is a little special you can NOT get the same product in all parts of the world. And since quality is the issue you are forced to import. And imports seems to annoy big brother for you are cleverly punished and deterred with extra fees and “fines”.

It’s a lonely war, but one I am going to win …
