Site dev: The LINKBOX

Just a quick comment on this. Nucleus, as far as I am concerned, has got one major problem - its hermetic structure. Originally it was never meant to work as a compkete website solution .. just a blog with search and archiving possibilities. Because of this, the internal Nucelus commands can NOT be called from external pages (I’ve seen an ugly hack of how to do this but out of the box this is impossible). Similarly, external php code can NOT be called/included within the Nucleus skins .. just as above there is a hack on how to do this, but it is far from universal.

That is why the “linkbox” is currently unavailable from the search, archive and main pages on this site. This is also the reason the calendar and shoutbox are running in iframes. I’m working on it ..
The best solution would be to enter the script variables into the main Nucleus code as global variables. We’ll see what I can do about it.
Since last week, the linkbox is using the pasqlnews script. Not the best solution I suppose but at least better than entering the info. manually in an html editor. What I would really need to do is provide a feasible archiving solution so that outdated links are just “lost” to the public. Hmm ….
