“Soldier” and “A Nightmare on Elm Street” arrived today, earlier than expected. Just under two weeks shipping. I’m constantly amazed by the american postal service and how the last package of the last order from the shipping location farthest away (LA) can arrive first.
No extra taxes or customs of course.
On a sidenote I must really nag and say once again how much I loathe snapper cases. Both dvds had minor exterior damage, located at the spine of the cover. Not bad enough to warrant a return but certainly annoying. I can’t remember the last time I got a disc from overseas in a snapper case that wasn’t damaged in any way. The discs however have never been damaged. Probably because the cases produce such a snug fit and unlike some keep cases can’t function as maracas. Need I point out that there are keep cases that are both disc safe and will hold for unfriendly postal service.
Now, if I only had the MediaBOX ready …
If anyone is wondering about the BOX, I can only say that it is on its way. The dwg-file was sent over a week ago and I haven’t heard from them since. The rest of the parts are looking a little shaky as well .. for now ..
No new discs have been added to the Media listing. I’m looking into new ways of displaying the disc information. So far OpenDB seems like the most promising script even though it is sadly more aimed at setting up a “disc community” for a multi-user environment. That means login and stuff like that … it all depends on how much I can customize the damn thing.
The main reason I like OpenDB so much is the import function from IMDB .. no more manually entering disc data. The stat function is pretty nice as well, providing pie charts of genre distributions.
