What is happening anyway? Will it ever be completed? You bet .. I’ve been busy pressing POP nuts and doing preliminary adaptation of the mainboard and harddrive holders. I purchased another sheet of foam isolation as well. I think it will be feasible to use the glue gun on this foam instead of cold spray or tube glue.

I applied degreaser on the entire chassis so that I can hopefully gloss paint the entire construction tomorrow. Or at least efter I’ve finished rubbing the surface. I must admit I was a bit sceptical about this procedure to begin with but BRUSHED aluminium looks so much better. Also I don’t have much of a choice since it came out scratched and with minor imperfections already from the manufacturer. The spray paint will hopefully stick better on a brushed surface as well.

I think it will be wise to wait for the final components before I do anything rash with the internal suspension. So, exterior modifications only for the time being. Still haven’t figured out which CPU/MB combo to use even everything points to a Celeron 1200-1400 based solution. And the controller is still undefined.

Suffice to say, this HTPC will rock. Well, at least it has bigger bolts than everyone elses.
