LifestreamYeah, what else is new? There was a leaked beta version of Doom 3 being reported elsewhere. The program known as SpeedFan was updated to v1.07.
A couple of GOOD new games hit the scene during the last couple of days. Mainly Age of Mythology and MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries. There was a very positive review of AoM at Gamespot.
IGN on the other hand reviewed the new MX 700 from Logitech. Might be interesting if you need to spend some money and really want to combine gaming with wireless, optical technology. As they point out, it hasn’t really been possible until now.
But where is Neocron, the massive multiplayer online rpg? It is hitting the shelves in the UK now it seems. And the code is being updated, as is the story and events in the virtual world. I heard there was a gladiator challenge somewhere in the shady parts of town. Might be a rush.
Also, Microsoft finally settled with the DOJ in the anti-trust case. Some argue they got off the hook to easy. Well, this is exactly what you can expect when you go launching unwarranted legal suits. I think MS should move their HQ to Venezuela or something.

There is also yet another controversy blowing up regarding violence and sex in computer games. This is indeed a “problem” I am familiar with from social psychology, and one that you can discuss until the end of days. As far as I know there is no conclusive evidence to point either way.

The good news from the entertainment business are as follows. “Buffy” is finally going down the drain, not that I really have anything against the series, but it gets a little tedious after a while.
Another Marvel comic entered pre-production, namely Iron Man. Once they got the ball rolling with Blade and X-Men they just could’t help themselves it seems. But, hey, I’m not complaining.
And, of course, Winona Ryder is embarrasing herself even further in the law suit against her. Reality is really more bizarre than fiction. What a dope. The only reason I’m taking a note on this is that she has been up for the choice of Gally at Reimeika. You, know what fans are like .. they can spend an eternity speculating over the possibility of a live action movie and the actors therein, even though there are no plans for such a movie and they would nevertheless not be able to influence the outcome of the project. My style exactly
