-15°C and dropping ..

That is what I call winter. Finally.
Besides shovelling snow, wandering through the icy woods, playing Warcraft 3 and writing a very non-essential report in social psychology, nothing is happening really. Everyone seems to be on holiday, thus no dev. on any of the projects. The harddrive is still MIA in the goddamn Netherlands. *sigh*

Hightower Crafts

Yeah, it’s that time of year again. Maybe it’s the influence of LOTR, I don’t know. While browsing Google for prosthetic latex articles I found my way to Hightowercrafts.com. Kind of in the same field of business as Maspien.
Apart from noticing how badly leather craftsmen design web pages (no offence, but it is more or [...]

Finally, the promised refund …

I know it’s silly but it wasn’t until today that I received the final refund from the “DVD bust” (see #157, #134) a couple of months ago. Customs (i.e. the government) actually didn’t quarrel too much but the postal service withheld its share of the money until TODAY. And I since I had to remind [...]

Nucleus dev

What is happening in the Nucleus community these days? If you go by the Nucleus front page, I suppose the answer would be “not much”. The sourceforge account looks dead to me and I’m still using v.1.55 with a few old plugins.
Apparently there are big changes happening just under the surface. See this post on [...]

This and That

Pretty slow day over here. I baked skillet bread and made a pine garland for the front door. That is pretty much it. Does it seem silly? A little maybe, but the reason I indulge in such activities is not to become homemaker of the year exactly. Actually it is a dark streak in my [...]

DVDSoon ground mail

Got the last (ever?) shipment from DVDSoon today. Fortunately for me it eluded customs.
Shipping time almost exactly ONE MONTH. Though, bear in mind that the shipping was free of charge. Now it seems that DVDSoon has removed the ground mail option. It’s sad since it worked really well with bargain discs. As long as the [...]

Free Trade

Lets face it. Customs and import / export regulations suck .. big time. The only viable alternative for a truly free world is free trade. This is more or less a fact that is backed not only by the freedom and benefit for the individual but also by the enormous benefits for nations, especially in [...]

Dental hygiene blues

I will have to admit that my last visit to the dentist didn’t go all that well. Cavities and faulty 3rd molars. What else is new?
I need to drastically improve my tooth brushing techniques once and for all. And the solution is (of course) by the use of oscillating electrical toothbrushes. Nothing new really, people [...]

CD-WOW customs safe again?

It seems so. I got my Ghost in the Shell (R4) today without any hickups. The package had a strange label with a Swedish return address even though it could not have been mailed from here. Puzzling ..
Well, the important thing is that this new method of shipping eludes the Swedish customs and postal services. [...]
