Gadget update! ADSL bridge arrived and operational ..

.. but no service activation until next Tuesday. Argh! I’m going crazy here. But I suppose I can wait four more days since I already waited FOUR YEARS.
The parts for the computer upgrade (enabling the HTPC/MediaBOX) are finally on their way and should arrive early next week. I didn’t order a broadband router yet though [...]

Comments for the main blog

I’m currently in the process of implementing the commenting function in Nucleus. For some reason I never saw the need for it before but it is a cool feature so what the hell ..
I haven’t updated the general files with the gzip code yet either. Hold on …

Site dev.

I’ve been playing around with the site a bit. First of all I installed all of the Nucleus plugins that I’ve missed over the last couple of months, including the Related Links plugin which I quite frankly haven’t been able to figure out yet. Watch the progress here on the testblog page.
The archive page got [...]

Nucleus v.2.0 beta

Just upgraded to the public beta of Nucleus 2.0. And nothing seems to be broken. Good for me.
If you are interested in trying out the Nucleus Content Management System and possibly set up up a cool site just like mine I suggest you visit the official website.

ADSL confirmation

According to my ISP the account will be active as of 2003-02-04. A day that will go down in history I am sure.

R9700 arrived today. Operational.

The card has been up and running for a couple of hours now. Initially I had some problems with a couple of games (Battlefield 1942, GTA3 etc.) that refused to even load but this went away when I installed the latest Catalyst 3.
A couple of notes so far:

Many thanks to ATI engineers for making the [...]

Don’t fear the Dentist, part 2

Third molars: Three down. One to go. This is getting seriously boring, having teeth pulled for no apparent reason. But the pain is thrilling so .. just go for it!

ADSL for real?

It certainly seems that way, so hopefully I will have it up and running before the end of January. But I won’t be celebrating just yet .. the remembrance of the last fiasco is still haunting me. Pessimism is a bitter fruit …
And speaking of ADSL, it seems that one of the ADSL providers (Telia) [...]

R9500/R9700 change of plans

I cancelled the R9500 since I found a much better deal on the R9700 (Sapphire) than I could ever have imagined. With some effort, the R9700 can easily reach Pro speeds and I don’t have to fiddle with any patches and stuff.
Buying and modding the R9500 might make sense with the price level overseas, but [...]

Soft9700 is OUT!

That is right. RivaTuner 2.0 RC12.1 + Soft9700 is out. Now it’s time to put those Radeon 9500 cards to the test. Get it here. Seems to work with Catalyst3 and supports overclocking as well. Since the release is so fresh I have no info on success rate (but feel free to discuss the subject [...]
