I cancelled the R9500 since I found a much better deal on the R9700 (Sapphire) than I could ever have imagined. With some effort, the R9700 can easily reach Pro speeds and I don’t have to fiddle with any patches and stuff.
Buying and modding the R9500 might make sense with the price level overseas, but if you’re going to pay over $230 for it here in Sweden it kind of takes away the fun. From what I can tell, the card can be found at $160 in the US and that is also where it belongs. I’m paying $290 for the R9700 anyway and the sudden change in price level might have something to do with the release of Geforce FX. Go figure.
