LifestreamThat is right. RivaTuner 2.0 RC12.1 + Soft9700 is out. Now it’s time to put those Radeon 9500 cards to the test. Get it here. Seems to work with Catalyst3 and supports overclocking as well. Since the release is so fresh I have no info on success rate (but feel free to discuss the subject at Guru3d).
On the other hand, there was another patch released yesterday. Unfortunately it doesn’t support either Catalyst3 nor overclocking BUT it has been through some testing here.
What can I say, it’s a gamble. And the 9500 seems to be difficult to get hold of in Scandinavia currently so I have no possibility to test this. I’m also thinking of moving my order to TheOverclockingStore. ITbutikken seems to be doing jack about my order.
Before anyone starts screaming “binned GPUs” or “broken pipelines” I must point out that there are many other possibilities. Like power shortage, driver conflicts, wrong bios, buggy software mods or previous hardware mods.
