I hit a bit of a snag with my main computer setup. Dang. Computer kept freezing for no apparent reason, especially (only) when running BitTorrent software. Or at least Explorer is freezing. You can still tab around and access most applications that are already running and don’t depend on Explorer. Network crawls to a halt just before. No logic behind it as far as I can see. Network / DSL works perfectly otherwise.

Re-installed XP and still having the same problems. Have just completed a Drive Fitness Test for all fixed drives and run Memtest86. No anomalies detected. Weird. Never had this kind of problem before and if doesn’t boil down to either HD or RAM I’m out of ideas. No hardware errors. Nothing to indicate anything is wrong.

Will try to roll back on nForce mainboard and ATI display drivers. Even if I ran them for weeks with no problems before yesterday.

BitTorrent is now being directed to HTPC setup. Was meaning to do that anyway. This could mean that I will no longer be running the main setup 24/7 and thus not have ICQ running quite as frequently.

Also, I’m back at work tomorrow so time will be limited. But more about that later.
