Router .. duh

I don’t know how long I’ve been running this shared internet DSL connection. A year perhaps. So far I’ve only had my two computers wired but for this autumn I plan to add another on the lower level. And three setups constantly dropping on and off the net, refusing DHCP and worse would simply drive me insane.
Strange, it didn’t strike me once that it might be a good idea to let the router do PPPoE instead of the bridge. Suffice to say, hickups have decreased considerably since I moved the authentication process. Plus I took the opportunity to manually input DNS servers (PRIMARY: ns.kth.se -> 130.237.72.200 SECONDARY: ns1.arrowhead.se -> 195.54.155.2). No more stumbling DNS resolving capabilities. I hope.

Also, I swapped the Netgear FA312 (with WOL) for a FA311 (same shit, but no WOL) I had in storage. Never got WOL to work anyway. And I figured that given two almost identical setups, it would be feasible that one network card could be causing all this ailment.
