Movies:

Zatoichi was supposed to premiere today. It didn’t. At least not at any cinema near me. Lucky for me that Team Ape’x has got a 3CD XVID AC3 soft-subbed version (with extras) on Suprnova. I’d really like to see it on a big screen but with the current situation there is nothing I can do about it.

Fahrenheit 9/11 however did open today. I’ll probably be a cheapskate and watch it next week. Or wait for the DVD RIP in this case also. It’s a documentary after all. And being slightly critical of the american system as I am, I assume that it will be a lot of preaching to the choir so to speak. But even given that the movie will hold no revelations, a message is so much more powerful in broad technicolor, and it is a movie that I should see.

Music:

Lots of things happening in the music scene these days. Too many new albums to keep up with really. We have a new weirdo-pop release in the shape of Björk – Medulla, not that I am a big fan but still. Ten released it’s new album Return To Evermore a while back, with some spectacular melodic rock tunes.
And how could anyone resist the new Mark Knopfler album, his fourth solo album Shangri-La? Another soft rock / blues release made in heaven.
It’s nice to see that Sonata Arctica is back and gearing up for a new album release. So far we’ve been blessed with the Dont Say A Word EP, containing the impressive title song by the same name. This is one band that I am beginning to appreciate more as time goes by. Look out for the upcoming Reckoning Night from Sonata Arctica.

Other recent releases:
