The Free Shear Manual Mower

This season I have promised myself to finally move to a free shear manual mower. The question is just which one. As I recall it, Husqvarna was the best choice the last time anyone bothered to test free shear mowers.

“Model 540 with NovoLette cutting system is a unique free shear type manual mower which minimises resistance and noise. This is why it is the quietest manual mower on the market. Can be used with a collector.”

Tough call. I would like to test one before I buy. Not that I doubt the effectiveness, but every garden is unique and I have some interesting landscaping that may or may not sit well with free shear / cylindrical model.
Also, I’m kind of disappointed that these models are always exactly 40cm across the blades. Would it really hurt to add another measly 10cm? Couldn’t they design a professional model for professional people? Ordinary (mulcher) mowers are usually 46 to 53 cm across btw. So it does make quite a difference.
