The M-Bird XT-22s

I think I mentioned this before. But it’s worth noting that the M-Bird did at last manage to emerge from the Korean market and can now be found, for instance, in Sweden.

Now that is sheer brilliance. It has its drawbacks though. But if it had only been for the exterior, I’d go for it.

The Provado Tabs

I applied Provado tabs to plants infested with Mealybugs. We’ll see how it goes …

The Final Straw

As I have suspected for a long time now, the so called program for Social Psychology that I have attended for three years turned out to be a fad. If I did not understand it before it became painfully clear during the grand finale today.
It’s really not more complicated than that. A fad filled with [...]

The Mulcher Mower, again

Still haven’t decided on a cylinder mower. So it was back to the old Klippo Mulcher again. In an effort to optimize the result, I set out to sharpen the rotating knives on the mulcher plate. I remembered I had a Dremel copy in the toolbox and I thought I’d give that a spin instead [...]

The UPS / Surge Arrester

It has happened twice in as many weeks now that I’ve had valuable work flushed due to surges in the electrical grid during or before lightning storms. Having spent an hour summarizing US subversion of Iran, you’re not gonna be too happy when the screen goes blank. So maybe that other time I was just [...]

The Cylinder Mower Test, Phase Two

Now compare this to what I had before. It’s not perfect but it’s good enough considering the mower I borrowed wasn’t exactly in mint condition.

The Mealybugs

Crap … so much for that Coffea Arabica …
Possible actions to take include scrapping the plant, insecticides (like Provado / imidacloprid) especially via tabs, manual removal and Cryptolaemus montrouzieri.

The Router Firmware

I upgraded the DI-624 router with the latest beta firmware, 2.52 b60 or whatever, and most of my problems seem to be resolved. I.e. no reboots even on default settings. Knock on wood. It remains to be seen whether the wireless workstation keeps dropping out during standby and if Azureus is getting routed properly + [...]

The Cylinder Mower Test, Phase One

I suppose I have become a little fixated on grass …
So, I convinced the local gardening and hardware store to lend me a cylinder mower. It was a used and somewhat noisy (not free shear) Klippo Perfect, but I nevertheless got an idea of what mowing the lawn by hand would be like. That is [...]

The Phone Recordings

Reminiscing. Digging through the archives I came upon something odd … a really weird phone practise from way back in 2001. Upon realizing how easy it was to use an ordinary modem to record and store phone conversations digitally (mp3) I just went for it. I suppose I reckoned that whatever I was doing it [...]
