MIT Weblog Survey

You know, the striking thing here is that the script polls your site and fetches 5 random links that it wants you to evaluate. Now, all five links that the site pulled from this server were internal. Kind of embarrassing in a way and very typical. This is kind of a fortress in many ways [...]

The Case

I really need to toss that old AOpen HX08 out the window. Now the question is what to replace it with. Something that isn’t too brash or too expensive. Chieftec comes to mind of course, but they have three models that are, except for the front, somewhat difficult to distinguish.

Even though the HX08 is a [...]

Ticks

Noun: Tick [tik]
2. Any of two families of small parasitic arachnids with barbed proboscis; feed on blood of warm-blooded animals.
No summer is complete without ticks. Though I still haven’t seen any reports of ticks actually being a vector for any sort of diseases, like Borrelia, in this area. One thing is for sure though … [...]

Jehovah’s Witnesses

It’s been awhile since I last saw or heard from them. But behold, on a lowly sunday of all days, they knock on my door, well dressed and well groomed, with that typical religious look to them. You know, crocodile smiles, lizard eyes and slicked back, thinning hair. And a semi-hard briefcase filled with religious [...]

Midsummer’s Day

TV Licence Tele Marketing

Just got a call from Radiotjänst (Rånartjänst) Kiruna asking me about TV licence. The interesting bit being that they apparently call EVERYONE born at the beginning of the 80s (who aren’t registered yet I presume), probably figuring that they have settled down and formed their own households by now.
Well, thanks very much for your nagging. [...]

3000 photos and counting

I just realized I passed 3000 digital photographs with my A80. Mostly of creepy critters and moss, but nevertheless 3000 photos. Interestingly enough, I haven’t saved more than 10% and as for the number of decent shots, who knows.
I also feel I haven’t mastered the camera yet, which is a little lazy I suppose .. [...]

Punbb integration

I’ve been playing around with the PunBB plugin for Nucleus. The idea being that one could open up threads in a forum instead of burdening the journal with the lame comment form when necessary. But so far I haven’t been able to get it to work in a satisfactory manner. First of all, it doesn’t [...]

The Forsaken Lands

So every job application I sent out came back negative. It figures. I need a new sparkling format, something that will really dull prospective employers, make me look interesting, competent and lull them into a false sense of security.
It still seems that most jobs are not advertised through the proper channels. That figures too. Most [...]
