It’s been awhile since I last saw or heard from them. But behold, on a lowly sunday of all days, they knock on my door, well dressed and well groomed, with that typical religious look to them. You know, crocodile smiles, lizard eyes and slicked back, thinning hair. And a semi-hard briefcase filled with religious pamphlets of course.
And still I was polite. Shame on me. The funny thing with these people is even though you start spouting lines from the Exorcist, and telling them there is no place for God here, they still manage another crocodile smile and contend that it sounds “interesting.”
It is also noteworthy that Jehovah’s Witnesses is a protestant denomination founded in the United States by Charles Taze Russell in 1884. Yeah you heard me, yet another plague we got from America. Gotta love the irony, the world contributed its best minds and labour, although unwittingly, to build the US and what do we get in return? Active evangelists for one just as we have gotten rid of our religious burden of old.
This is quite frankly a chapter in itself. I’ve spent plenty of time examining the Church of Scientology, but the American “religious” network is much bigger than that. Jehovah’s Witnesses being one, the Mormon Church (Latter-day Saints) being another. Note to self: Eliminate said organizations as a way to eliminate US influence.
