The Lenses

Lucky for me I ordered a new set of Purevision lenses when I did. The pair I was using had deteriorated and aged to the point where one of them cracked. Yes indeed. And silicon doesn’t do that easily. I guess around 9 months is the limit for these lenses

So, I got the replacement burner yesterday. So far it’s been a very positive experience. Burning and verifying the discs that the old LiteON 401/411 failed with that is. Like the Memorex 8X +R Printable. Even the Datawrite 4x -R discs seemed to work. Fingers crossed.

The Last Order (Gunnm) 4 and 5

I was lagging behind a bit here. Upon checking in with United Publications, I realized that I had missed two entire albums. Battle Angel Alita - Last Order Graphic Novel 4: Angel of Protest and Graphic Novel 5: Haunted Angel.

The Burner Replacement

So I took a chance. I just had to do something about the Lite-ON DVD burner. Not only does DVD media compatibility remain shaky but recently I’ve been unable to burn CDR. And I’ve had more than my fair share of DVD+R coaster too come to think of it, even on highly compatible media.

The Lenses

Ordered a replacement box of Purevision lenses. By my estimates I’ve been using the current lenses since September last year. So overall it’s a pretty good deal. But like most things they age and eventually have to be replaced. And obviously I ordered online. No point in dealing with snooty opticians.
