LifestreamFinally decided on a mower. Kind of by accident. At a 50% off rebate and considering it’s a Gardena, I’m sort of pleased with myself. Ended up paying 595:- SEK for the 6000 SM which seems to be either last year’s model or a German / Austrian model normally not sold outside of that geographic area. Who knows. The bottom line is that it is a nice, comfortable and quiet free shear reel / cylinder mower.
Seven reasons to go reel:
1. They’re light.
2. They’re quiet.
3. They’re environmentally friendly.
4. They’re better for your grass. (Rotary mowers tear the grass. Reel mowers cut the grass like scissors, leaving a fine spray of cuttings as mulch for your yard.)
5. They’re maintenance free.
6. They’re as easy to push as much heavier motorized mowers.
7. They don’t blow exhaust into your face while you’re mowing.
