I acquired an IrDA adapter earlier this week. Been meaning to get one of these for a long time but I never got around to it. My main motive now was the possible future use of a C-PEN or similar device and the need to beam data wirelessly for fast blogging purposes. Also, it is convenient to access, edit and backup data from mobile phones, like my ageing Ericsson T310 (even if that particular model is a bit user unfriendly when it comes to remote access).
And besides, it’s always good to be prepared. You can never have too many interfaces.
About the C-PEN bungle, I’ve been searching high and low for one. Almost bought one (800C), twice, second hand but it seems that people these days are as unsophisticated and rude as they are inarticulate. You’d think they’d be a little more agreeable when they are selling something but no … You start asking questions and they just fail to reply. Or respond in a snotty manner. Stall until they have sold it to someone else. As if you’re inconveniencing them somehow. What a rabble. No loyalty and no manners.
Anyway, still looking for a C-PEN or similar that can scan and store large amounts of text.
