So, basically, for reasons unknown, the movie never premiered at a cinema near me. Practically the only movie not to do so from the summer line up. So once again, the movie business shouldn’t be too surprised to find that I eventually got the XVID DVD-RIP instead because I was tired of waiting. Now this is not always the case and I am hardly the noble pirate, but all I’m saying is that this was one of the few movies this year that I would have considered paying for. And you blew it. Thank you very much.
About the film, it was a good zombie flick but nothing out of the ordinary. What caught my eye was the social commentary that, for most people, should be extremely obvious. Fiddler’s Green was a society started anew but with a legacy and connection to the macro world around us. The rotten capitalists ruled through fear and resources and most importantly the sometimes reluctant assistance of some of the lower social strata … traitors to their own people if you will. Furthermore, it doesn’t take a sociologist to place the zombies to some extent and the people living outside the ivory tower, the outcasts, prostitutes, beggars, and homeless people as a mental image for the lumpenproletariat and working class, struggling with their social revolution. A revolution which they eventually accomplish and then vouch to build a better world even granting that there is a place for the walking dead.
