Since two weeks ago, Sweden has migrated to digital passports. Sounds hyped but in reality it’s just a small embedded chip that can hold text and a mugshot. Same as what is usually also, and remains to be, on paper. No biometrics (in the strict sense of the word) for a couple of years thankfully.
I was actually meaning to get one of those old passports, before they went out of production, but I sort of forgot about it. Wasn’t a priority and shows how much I really care. Seems my last passport expired in 2002 and from the looks of it, has hardly ever been used. My point I guess, besides voicing paranoia, is that I feel sort of sessile. Kind of like a barnacle … without a passport.
