So, we finally did away with our Delicard gift certificate. I don’t remember if I mentioned it before but it was a corporate xmas present for last year. But due to the crappy selection of gifts, we couldn’t bring ourselves to use it. But now it was about to expire and so we had no choice, lest Delicard and the system would get the best of us twice over.
Port Wine Cheddar. Thanks a lot Delicard. It tastes like old socks no matter how many upper-class euphemisms you wrap it in. In fact the whole project smacks of “bourgeois” finer tastes and belittling those that aren’t “sophisticated” enough to enjoy the “finer things” in life. Plus you end up with a cheese that is twice as expensive as it would have been had I bought it in a store, and many times as expensive as a cheese you can actually eat. I find that appalling. But I guess the commercialism and the abundance of middlemen is what they call freedom in the market economy.
