Battleangel was hit by over 400 spam comments this morning within a few hours before I had a chance to update the manual blacklist and put an end to it. That is a new record. Obviously they were all caught by the Comment Control moderation plugin. Deleting them can be done in one swift operation, but the risk is always that somewhere in that jumble is a legitimate comment that too is stuck in moderation. Please resend if that is the case and you suspect that your comment was lost.

All comment links were going to “3dup.com” and the sender was listed as “demiurg.” A very limited variability and as such easy to block. Choke and die and stop wasting my bandwidth.

Still waiting for a CVS upgrade (I’m too lazy) and fancier anti-spam scripting. Compared to the script that is running on the Wordpress install over at Silent Nation, this is kids’ stuff.
