Christmas folly

Not a single xmas present, either way. Now that was a big step forward. No queer stuff. No sponsoring of commercial traditions. No cuddling of nationalism and traditions.

Instead of wasting your Xmas, go for a walk. Marvel at the absence of people. Or watch the last few episodes of ReGenesis. Fantastic series btw. Hope to see season two later this year.

At least they had the good sense of doing a TV rerun of Chess (the musical). Swedish television during the holidays remains a very romantic, dumbfounded and yesteryear mix of shows and clips. It’s alarming and harmless at the same time.

Talking about television and the holidays, don’t you just hate circus shows? They even beat learning what the royal family was up to during the past year.

Oh, and if I hear one more Tsunami story, I’m gonna puke. And the next guy to try and spin the story for political gain is gonna wish he drowned a year ago. I have some news for you. Tsunamis are natural occurrences. It also didn’t happen on Swedish soil. Plus the people involved were there by their own choice. Plus the same people who now lambast the government (why I do not really understand) were also pretty actively racist towards the SE Asian nations at the time. Even though they quite frankly handled the situation above and beyond the call of duty.
It’s amazing how these libertarian wannabes on the right always talk about small government and looking after themselves, but when it comes down to it they expect to be bottle-fed.
The whole thing is a fluke and a tragedy sure. But not so much for Sweden which wasn’t even the scene of the disaster. I can’t fathom why all this time is spent crying over white, predominantly well-to-do tourists. Lets see if the political right can muster the same moral fibre when it comes to dealing with the American abuse going on all around us, and which unlike Tsunamis can be stopped.
