FAT32 .. oh why

So, I was unpacking The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion by RELOADED and guess what. The damn ISO file was more than 4GB in size. Looks like I’ll be forced to abandon FAT32 since apparently there is a 4GB limit which I had forgotten all about. It took me three attempts and switching from Powerarchiver to [...]

2000 GB

Mark 2000 GB (1000 GB download) according to the Azureus stats. Almost. Overall ratio has dropped to 0.978 though.
That makes 40 GB / month downstream on average for the last eight months.
1000 GB (or 500 GB download) was achieved on 2005-07-30 … not bad for 0.5 Mbit. Information wants to be free!

ID Card Expiry

As I way completing this morning’s exam in Political Science, my mind started wandering and as it is one of those rare occasion when you have your ID card out, I looked at the expiry date. True to form, I had forget to renew it and so it had actually expired two years ago. Though [...]

Kidney Beans

A leap of faith for sure. I have a real aversion towards beans and peas and such. But served with a homemade Mexican seasoning mix, I suppose one can make an exception. Also, this means no more buying of seasoning mixes. What a fraud.

V for Vendetta

Suffice it to say the best movie so far this year. Probably in a long time. I can’t remember when I last saw a movie that actually touched me the way Vendetta did. Some have complained about what they saw as heavy-handed references to the “war on terror” (which these reviewers have no doubt bought [...]

Nice day for a walk

I must confess I’ve been awfully lazy this past term and so far this year. It’s a question of priorities. I figured I would actually try to take academic life seriously for a change. And having been in a comatose state for the last year or so of Social Psychology had given me a renewed [...]

MacGyver Season 5

MacGyver Season 5 dvd-rip is in the pipe. Give or take a few propers and repacks. Only two more seasons to go after that. That series has sure been a hassle. I started getting the JWA tv-rips years ago, only to lose most of them in a hard drive related mishap.
It’s funny though, I used [...]

Sucralose

I don’t know about the safety of Sucralose, which was only approved in the European Union as late as 2004, but from a taste bud perspective it sure is quite awful. Normally I would be all for low-carb food, chlorocarbon or not, but this really fails to impress. Especially since manufacturers go overboard and add [...]

Nightmarish

I have been experiencing an increasing rate of memory “fragmentation” or “seepage” lately and I am at a loss as to why. Old memories resurfacing when I least expect them to, probably jogged by visual, auditory or olfactory stimuli as usual, but at an alarming rate or at least far more acute than I’ve never [...]

Academia 2005

I just realized that although I am no longer a program student and is in fact cherry-picking courses, I managed to do my best academic term ever during the fall/winter. 28 credits/points (42 ECTS) all in all. Usually I have never been able to complete (in terms of examination) the allotted 20 points given that [...]
