(Kurtlar vadisi - Irak) I’ve been waiting a long time for the properly subbed DVDRip of this movie. I doubt it was worth it, but Kurtlar vadisi has become quite the cult movie already. And besides, there is a measure of poetic justice in the role reversal and the sudden negative stereotyping of Americans. In pretty much the same way the U.S. and its Hollywood fantasy engine has been conjuring up “Arabs” and “Communists.” I believe the Turks have struck gold here and perhaps unwittingly stumbled across one of the secrets of the American empire. Suddenly, Americans are lamenting how they are demonized while the audience are soaking up the quasi-reliable message to the last letter. In the exact same fashion that Hollywood has been building U.S. national identity at the expense of everyone else, maligning everything foreign, for soon to be a century.
