I have started to purge and in some cases fix the layout of some of the older and more immature, pointless items in the journal. So far I’ve plain deleted about 20 or 30 items. I’m going by month, starting from the beginning, slowly working towards the present, determining what posts I can still maintain. Don’t worry though, the posts where I abuse and threaten people will stay. It’s mostly personal tidbits and insights that are going. And posts that are purely personal but posted in a context, like customs rulings, dvd private imports, that may indicate a favourable position on free trade. That sort of thing. I may even go so far as to purge all uncategorized posts <1000 or something like that. Going through old posts proved to be time-consuming, not to mention seriously depressing so I suspect I’ll axe parts of the archive soon enough.
Gone so far: # 85, 135, 159, 196, 200, 206, 252, 335, 363, 376, 418, 435, 452, 457, 476, 577, 582, 597.
On a related matter I also took the time to register sitemaps with Google for both Silent Nation and Battleangel. Lets see how that turns out.
I’m not happy with the way Google spiders Battleangel and consistently links to categories, archives, just about anything except the item in question. The Wordpress installation over at Silent Nation on the other hand is being indexed perfectly. Every month that passes by convinces me that Nucleus may be a dead end and that it’s time to jump ship. The development group has been extrememly unwilling to re-write the core to better mimic the winning concept of Wordpress and instead seem hellbent on running the code into the ground, ignoring every piece of constructive criticism. There are so many areas where Nucleus is lagging now that one can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel anymore. Nucleus is dead, long live Nucleus!
