Mp3 failure

Still no mp3 player. And as I was walking by a showcase of the current generation of mp3 players at one of my local electronics retailers I was struck with the force of revelation. Seeing mp3 players in the flesh is a lot different from reading specs and brooding over promo shots. I have expressed my concern over DAP miniaturization in the past. But it is dawning on me now that I will most likely never buy an mp3 player as long as they are this small, and shrinking. Wtf is wrong with people? Why do they make the players so small? What is the point? Do we have a sub species of midgets that we have to cater to? I mean, people certainly aren’t getting smaller so why are the players? What is the point? The battery capacity goes way down, the batteries go proprietary, and the knobs and whatnot get so small that they are impossible to operate, especially with gloves on.

I’ve said it at least twice before but I got so worked up this time that I just had to repeat myself again. Call me when mp3 players are the size of PDAs and have twice the battery time they have today. In the meantime I’m just refusing to jump on the bandwagon. Every new model just sickens me a little more.
