Had another prepaid sim card expire on me. Not my main cell, but still. Way to go. This was the second card that I’ve had expire in the last two years.

In other related news, I was out looking for new cell phone so that I could make better use of data services. Plus, my old T310 is getting a little glitchy. But alas, the market is saturated with crap it seems. Not a single phone worth a damn. If you filter the market using reviews, accessibility (big buttons, big screen or touch control), SAR value and last but not least price, there isn’t a single phone that will make the cut. Iphone 3G you say? Sure, but does anyone really believe that you can get one for just $199? Seriously? The closest I’ve come would be some of the smart phones from HTC, NOKIA and LG.

And given the new surveillance schemes that are cropping up around the world it is in fact tempting to stop using voice communication altogether. Encrypted email is looking better by the day, and can allow for considerably higher bit strength than streaming applications. Not that there is an abundance of mobile encrypted voice communication to choose from anyway.
