I have to say this game turned out to be quite a disappointment. The game was supposed to be a refined expansion to the original Crysis, and indeed the level design is a bit more clever as far as I’ve played, but almost everything else is worse. And it should be noted that many of the levels feel awkwardly familiar. There are the obligatory mine and carrier levels for instance.
There are real problems however. Crysis Warhead loads slower than ever. And the framerates are slow, uneven and stuttering on settings that were pretty much fine in Crysis. Plus, the game keeps crashing on level loads and during gameplay. There is no error message and nothing in the logs so I can’t make heads or tails of the crashes. They do however remind me a lot of what happened in Assassin’s Creed. And that was never resolved or even acknowledged afaik so I don’t have any confidence anyone will fix this anytime soon. I’m running the game on a Q6600, 2GB, 2900 Pro, DX9 system by the way – on 1024×768 "mainstream" settings – which is well below what this rig should be able to do.
And on a similar note, the companion Crysis Wars once again seems to leave single players behind. Would it kill you to add a single player mode with bots? Or be able to add bots to multiplayer games for that matter.
