Allow me to blaspheme the new gaming messiah, but I wasn’t very impressed with the game.
Oblivion with guns, and possibly an even more awkward interface. Pip-Boy, seriously? It is about as convenient as Windows Vista. If you’re not careful this could be the new interface for Windows 7. And as some reviewers pointed out, the combat system is a little clunky. That is the understatement of the year. I played Oblivion and liked it at the time. I recently revisited the game and just didn’t get it anymore. In fact I was appalled. Needless to say, I’m not eager to sit through another incarnation.
I could barely get past the lengthy character creation mission or whatever I should call it. I mean, come on! That was pretty much the most annoying game intro I’ve ever seen. Again, similar to Oblivion, only longer and clunkier.
The rest of the game is bug-fest (and I’m not just talking about radroaches) prone to freezes and crashes. I did the ffdshow exception thing but it didn’t seem to work. Again, seeing as there are plenty of new and old games that do work, this must be poor programming.
