Kitchen slicers

Got myself a few contraptions from Börner. Primarily the V4 mandoline v-slicer and combi chef plus some accessories.

The herb roller / mincer pictured is from OXO, but Boerner’s mincer is a lot like it, except it has six blades and a less sexy design. I’ll have some thoughts on the operation of these appliances when I’ve had the time to try them out.

Addendum: My first impression of the slicer was that it much like I had anticipated worked best on medium size items. Large items can of course be reduced before skewering them on the safety holder. But the real tricky part is to slice small items, like radishes, particularly if you want size one slices (1.5mm). In my first attempt, I could only get the radish down to about 2/3 – 3/4 before it fell of the safety holder. Not very economical or practical. But I need to get more practice with the unit obviously. Could be that small vegetables are better suited for the combi chef.
