Belts

Budget Tac-Safe belt. Velcro inside.

TAC-01233

Overall a good belt for the money I guess. Extremely rigid, but also extremely bulky. Unsure of the quality of the plastic lock. Complicated adjustment of belt length obviously.

Belts are hopeless in a way. I just can’t seem to find a belt that will go with all applications. A normal belt, even the heavy leather belts I have, cannot support the weight of equipment, like say a couple of pockets, flashlight etc. And these military safety belts, like the one I purchased, are far too bulky to fit the belt loops of a normal pair of pants. A normal belt in my book is three centimeters wide while a military belt typically is five centimeters. Now, I never intended the safety belt for use with pants but rather in conjunction with the Blackhawk Belt Pad. The pairing went pretty well I think, adding both padding and strength BUT what I didn’t consider was the size of some of the old pockets and holsters. It turned out that the pocket for the folding knife and the flash light holster didn’t fit a five centimeter belt. Like most pants, they can only fit a four centimeter belt at most. Oh well, nothing is perfect I suppose. I did solve the issue with the heavier applications at any rate.

So, still looking for a heavy duty belt that will double as a normal belt. 5.11′s Operator was one option but as it turned out that model was four and a half centimeters wide.
