I’m having issues with libxml2 and posting via xml-rpc (left brackets being stripped). The problem apparently has been around since some ill-fated libxml2 tweak back in December, but I didn’t notice it until my host did a software upgrade this past Saturday while performing hardware maintenance.

Apparently though, since the libxml people insisted nothing was wrong, it fell upon the php developers to remedy the problem. And this is apparently what they’ve done. The upcoming version 5.2.9 or possibly 5.3.0 will once and for all plug the hole. No need to downgrade libxml or hack your WordPress installation anymore.
