Photo Bags

I didn’t really know what to get so I got two random LowePro bags at a sale. Bags are tough and a bit like lenses in that you can never seem to have enough of them. There really is one for every occasion.

 lowepro fastpack 250

Originally I had considered the Mini Trekker AW, but it wasn’t as versatile as the Fastpack 250. It did have a tripod holder (if it can even hold a 055XPROB), and AW of course, but at the same time it lacked easy access and some of the more general compartments of the Fastpack. This ought to be a good compromise between the Slingshot I really wanted but didn’t want to lug around and the more specialized Mini Trekker. The Fastpack 250 doesn’t hold that many lenses but it should be enough for now. It can also hold a 15” laptop or whatever.

toploader 75 aw

Also, I got a bargain price on a LowePro Toploader 75 AW. A reasonable shoulder bag I reckon with the right padding, but more importantly the solution for hiking with a dSLR (I hope). The idea is that it can be worn on the chest, either strapped to the backpack itself or to the included chest harness. Theoretically it can also connect to a belt if you feel so inclined. Either way it does offer easy access without being in the way and it can be combined with other bags in a variety of ways. An added bonus of course is that you look like complete dork wearing it.

323

I also got a Manfrotto 323 quick change adapter platform for use on the macro rail and other *pod solutions that don’t offer a quick release solution.
