Supreme Commander 2 Demo

Hit or miss? I noticed a lot of people were griping over at Voodoo Extreme and Blue’s News. So, contrary to policy, I installed that pile of crap called Steam just to be able to download and run the demo.
Setting aside the fact that some aspects of the game felt somewhat shifty and that [...]

Verdict still stands. WotLK is the grindiest game ever. Leveling my top three characters to 80 was easy enough once I had done it once and could buy "cold weather flying" plus swift flying mounts for the other two. I also changed some professions around. Leveled mining and jewelcrafting. Then finished leveling enchanting and [...]

Battlefield Bad Company 2

I finally got my beta code the other day. I had a nagging suspicion this wasn’t my cup of tea exactly but I nevertheless took the opportunity to play for free.
Verdict: Not my cup of tea (surprise!).
Too realistic, frantic and messy. Plus you basically need teamplay to survive. Plus the demo "assault" type map [...]

PC Games Winter 2009

Another dismal quarter.
Left 4 Dead 2: The first person shooter equivalent of Space Invaders. Seriously. I’ve seen cattle in a slaughterhouse feeling less herded than the unwitting player of the L4D series. Linear like a 2D scroller. And dumbed down as well with console-like controls and abilities.
And how about Dragon Age. Role-playing. Cute. Massive install [...]

I happened to re-activate my WOW account for another ten day WotLK trial. It is enough to get it out of my system for a while and remind me why the game is so unforgiving to antisocial, casual players like myself. Nevertheless, I took a screen grab from the altoholic addon after having logged in [...]

Mini Ninjas

The PC gaming scene is as stale as ever. I thought Mini Ninjas would be nice, but it turns out to be just another Lego-style wannabe with "console disease" and lazy programming.
My main gripe of course is that the game crashes before getting to the main titles. Just to be sure it wasn’t my [...]

Sundry PC Games

It’s starting to become dull, pointing out the burning wreck that is the PC gaming scene, but it is also slightly cathartic … and besides I have nothing else to do. So here it goes.
Street Fighter IV, currently the highest scoring game by metascore, should hardly impress anyone. Wish it had been more like [...]

Transformers 2

Not content to just have Michael "The Turd" Bay ruin the second Transformers movie like he did the first, the people in charge decided to take a stab at the video game tie-in as well.
So good job retards. Aside from the epileptic gameplay, cramped maps, worthless gamma settings, unacceptable frame rates, closed world, worthless [...]

Prototype

I would like to write something positive about the only theoretically good game to come out for the PC since forever, but all I get is this upon choosing new game.

Good job Prototype developers. I have no idea what you did but whenever I get this error I’m generally dealing with beta applications. VLC [...]

Battlefield Heroes

I had the good fortune to receive a beta key for the Battlefield Heroes second beta test phase. Seems like an interesting game. I don’t play Team Fortress but obviously BF Heroes has much of the same look and style I guess. It also seems the game is fairly close to completion and that [...]
